My old Snapper mower won't crank. Can anyone help me with a diagnosis?
I have an old Snapper rear engine mower with a 8-1/2 HP Honda pull rope type engine that I retired when I bought my John Deere z-trak zero turn. I now have a friend interested in the Snapper. Before I retired it, I drained the gas out of the tank, and covered the engine with a plastic bag and then a plastic kiddie pool. Last weekend I got out and checked it out, changed the oil, added gas to the tank, checked the plug and plug wire and can’t get it to fire up for some reason. Any help on other things I could check out or do to get it running to make a quick bucks?

try taking off the fuel bowl on the carburetor to see if it has sediment or water in it.
You drained the gas tank but there was probably still gas in the fuel line and carburetor. Take the carb off and clean it with some B-12 or evern rubbing alcohol and blow out the fuel line.
That should solve the problem.
